Florida Democrats lost another legend last week.

Monday April 22, 2024

Good morning Democrats!

Florida Democrats lost another legend last week.

Senator/Governor Bob Graham passed on April 16. He believed in serving his constituents, regardless of their party affiliation. I remember him for his workdays. He wanted to understand what others did to make a living in our state, so he could govern with compassion. He was also a strong supporter of a solid PUBLIC education.

What a contrast to the intentional cruelty and arrogance coming out of Tallahassee today!

Here are just a few things our Legislature passed this year. We live in one of the hottest climates in our country, but employers need not provide breaks to prevent overheating. People do die of heat stroke. They even made it illegal for individual municipalities to pass regulations regarding this issue!

And our sorry excuse for an Education Commissioner now insists we must teach the evils of communism. I really don’t have an issue with that as long as we teach the evils of fascism as well and its history in our country. It’s hard to take them seriously when they are afraid to teach the truth about slavery and the history of Jim Crow and segregation in America!

How about teaching them about democracy and how that works. Then teach them about “Citizens United” and how we now have the best government money can buy!

Florida Voters have an opportunity to unseat these greedy, arrogant, out of touch monsters who do not look out for their constituents.

Their voting records are public. Check them out and VOTE.

It’s time to pay attention to all elected officials, from Dog Catcher to President.

NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

Get involved and help save our Democracy and our Country!
Here’s how:

Thanks to all who worked the event and all who took the time to come out and VOTE! We should know who won by Friday April 26.

If you are looking to be more involved with the party, we have a job that can be done from home.
Membership chair – requirements: some computer skills and a computer. We provide the materials and your job is mailing out membership cards and new voter postcards.
Please email me if you are interested. Our current Volunteer is moving out of the keys. (a sad trend)

Please share my emails with your like-minded friends and bring them to meetings. It’s a great way to meet more DEMS and get involved in our activities. This is not the year to take a break from politics and voting. We must be united and make sure everyone votes!!!

We need precinct organizers, folks willing to canvas, folks who like to analyze data, texters, volunteers to work our events. Social media addicts, computer nerds.
Go to our website and fill out the volunteer form.

If you can contribute financially, we need that too.
